Mini Corn Dogs Recipe Coockery Show

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat 1 egg until well-beaten. Add ½ cup cornmeal, ½ cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, ½ cup milk, and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Stir with a spoon to combine mixture, and then beat with an electric mixer until smooth. With tongs, dip Lit'l Smokies into batter, one at a time, and place on a rack to drain. Heat about 1-inch of peanut oil in a heavy pot on the stove until it reaches 350 degrees. With tongs, gently drop individual coated mini corn dogs into hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes. As individual corn dogs get done, remove them from the hot oil and drain them on a platter that has been covered with paper toweling to drain. When all corn dogs are fried and drained, place them on a nice serving platter with a small cup of honey mustard in the middle for dipping. This is a really popular recipe, and I hope you can use it for your parties!

Nachos Supreme Recipe Coockery Show

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large pot. Add 1 large clove of minced garlic. Saute until garlic is tender. Add 1 cup chopped onion. Saute until onion is soft and clear. Add a 4-oz. can undrained diced green chiles, 1 large chopped tomato, and 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro. Simmer until tender and flavors are blended. Add (2) 16-oz. cans refried beans, stirring until mixture is smooth. Stir in 5 oz. Monterey Jack cheese cubes, and cook over low heat until cheese melts and mixture is bubbly, stirring occasionally. Cool; cover and chill well. (At this point, you may freeze the bean mixture for later use.) When read to bake your nachos, select unbroken white corn tortilla chips and place them on a cookie sheet or ovenproof platter. Top each with a generous teaspoonful of bean mixture, sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese, and top with a slice of jalapeno pepper, if desired. Broil 6 inches from broiler unit, just until cheese melts. Top hot nachos with small dollops of sour cream and a sprinkling of chopped cilantro. Serve immediately. These are the *best* nachos I have in my recipe collection, and I hope you love them! Love,

Chocolate Decorator's Icing Recipe Coockery Show

Melt 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate and 1 teaspoon butter over hot water. Remove from heat; blend in 1 cup confectioner's sugar and 1 tablespoon hot water. Place in a medium-sized mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth. If necessary, add hot water, a teaspoonful at a time, until of desired consistency. (I added an additional teaspoon of hot water.) Place into a piping bag and use for decorating iced or un-iced sweets. I use a Quick Tip method, since I do not have a piping bag. I cut a *very* small opening at the bottom of a quart-sized plastic bag and inserted some of the chocolate icing into the bag. I then squeezed the Chocolate Decorator's icing out of the small hole in the plastic bag to write my grandson's name on a cupcake. This icing will look much nicer with professional equipment, but you can always use this quick and easy method. You may use your Chocolate Decorator's Icing for more than writing names and messages; you may draw the outline of any item that you want to feature. You can also form it into items like florets that will hold their shape. This is a project that is a lot of fun to do with your children. I hope you enjoy this Chocolate Decorator's Icing!

Fried Chicken with Crust Recipe Coockery Show

Trim any excess fat from 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper, to taste, and place in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, whisk together 1 well-beaten egg and ½ cup milk. Pour over chicken, turning pieces to coat. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Combine 1 cup flour, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon paprika in a heavy duty zip-lock bag. Drop 1 chicken breast half at a time into bag; close the bag at the top and shake to coat. Pour peanut oil to a depth of 1 inch in a heavy skillet. Heat oil to 350 degrees. Add chicken and cook, uncovered, 10 to 20 minutes (depending on the thickness of the chicken), turning as needed. Drain on paper toweling. Transfer to a nice serving platter and serve immediately while hot and crispy! I usually serve these with mashed potatoes and gravy and vegetables. This time I served the Fried Chicken with Crust with Quick Tip Gravy, Hot and Saucy Baked Beans, Pepper Jack Cheesy Mac, Peanut Butter Bon Bons and iced tea. It turned out to be a great dinner! I hope you enjoy it!

Drinks with Ice Balls Recipe Coockery Show

Place an ice ball in an Old Fashioned glass. In a measuring cup, mix together 2 oz. bourbon whisky, 1 oz. lemon juice, 1 oz. lime juice, and 2 oz. simple syrup. (If you are not using an ice ball, also add ice chips.) Pour mixture into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. (If you don't have a shaker, use a mixer or blender to blend well.) Immediately pour over ice ball, and place a cocktail pick containing ½ of an orange slice and 1 stemmed maraschino cherry on top of the drink.
